...Interesting...

Recently i was approached by a man on the corner of Lindsay and Houston where i am the crossing guard! He asked me if i had ever read the book in his hand titled "Jesus Did it anyway" .. i politely said nope! whats it about!? He proceeded to explain many things about this book to me and then we got into a long discussion about religion! I asked him what faith he belonged to. And he replied " i dont believe in religion, i feel like it is man made and that it is a power trip for men. Everyone is trying to say join our church, and religion only cares about numbers." ... He explained to me that as long as he was right with god, and believed then he was "SAVED" .. i partly agreed with him, but i explained to him that we must also show our love to our Savior! That we cant just believe! Thats what i call "blind faith" i told him we must obey the commandments and laws that are set to make us healthy people and we must use strict obedience to "SHOW OUR LOVE TO GOD!" He thought that was interesting also! ... Anyways.. This man... Really got me thinking about religion. Dont get me wrong.. i am not doubting my beliefs, but i thought the man actually had a point. Religion does seem to be "man made".... Well i starting thinking alot about this, and praying lots too. Why did this man get through to me!? why was i starting to ponder this so much!? I know what i have believed my whole is to be true! Well a couple mornings later i was reading my Book of Mormon, and i kept reading these scriptures that i thought, wow, i really should have shared that with this man! and then i went to remember the scriptures( i dont now, haha) but the spirit pointed out to me stronger than i have felt in a long time, that these scriptures were from the Book of MORMON! i didnt have to think about it anymore because that was my testimony builder right there, that this book is so true and that joseph is the true prophet! He translated the book for us! The man shared alot of Bible scriptures with me..not saying the bible is bad, i enjoy the bible also..But just saying how much of a true addition the Book of Mormon really is!. so as i was reading i was thinking what could i have shared with him!? and then i realized everything i wanted to say all came from the Book of Mormon! The lord works in his own little ways! but im sure glad he does! Missionary experiences are soo awesome sometimes we ourselves as members of the church end up learning more from them than we think!
